My fiancé is #214 on the waitlist for his Fisker Ocean, and he's hoping it arrives sometime in the second quarter. He's already planning an epic road trip, and I'm picturing us camping with a tent on the roof rack. But with two of us in the tent, that's going to be around 600 pounds on the roof when we're parked! Has anyone heard what the roof weight limit is for the Ocean? I'm worried about whether this is even feasible. Any advice on reinforcing the roof rack, or alternative tent options we should consider?
 
That sounds like a solid plan! I don’t think the glass really adds much structure, especially on the Ocean since it’s not a fixed pane. I’d just like to get confirmation from Fisker before going ahead with it.
 
600 lbs sounds like a lot for any glass-roofed EV, let alone one without an official weight rating yet. I’d be careful assuming the Ocean can handle it, even when parked. Some SUVs reinforce the mounting points, but if it's just sitting on a glass roof, that could be risky. I’d definitely wait for official specs before committing to a rooftop tent.
