My ocean basically went completely dead, and after hours of freaking out, I finally got a tech on the phone. He walked me through this super bizarre procedure, and to my amazement, it seems to have revived my car!
Here's the crazy thing the tech had me do. First, I put a wheel chock in place for safety (always a good idea!). Then, I removed the front trim and the hood bolts to get to the battery. Next, I connected an external starter to the battery. Now for the weird part I buckled up, got in the car, opened the door, disengaged the parking brake, put it in drive, and then immediately got OUT of the car. While the car was still running, I carefully disconnected the starter cables. After that, I let the car idle for about 15 minutes. Then, I turned the car off. Finally, I removed a small 5A fuse near the battery, waited a minute, and then put the fuse back in.
Fingers crossed, this might work for some of you too! If you need a new 12V battery, Advance Auto carries the H4-XEV Die Hard model.
Again, I'm not a mechanic, so please be extremely cautious if you try this!
I'm sharing this in the hopes that it might help someone else. If you do try it, please let me know if it worked for you!
