Question about charging

I'm charging my car with a regular outlet. The charger says it's charging at 8 amps, but the car says it's only getting 2.7 amps. Is that normal? I'm not in a hurry, but it's kinda weird.

Maybe the car’s charging system is limiting the intake to prevent overloading.
